Gregory paused at the corner of the dock, heart hammering in his chest. He was powerless here, surrounded by all this water. He looked over his shoulder, and surely enough, he was screwed. Helpless, hopeless, and tragically outnumbered, he held his breath and took a leap of faith, plunging into the waters below. At least, if he died, it wouldn't be in flames. Besides, who would be stupid enough to waste their bullets on him? He hadn't even stolen anything, nevertheless had anything of value to steal. The ruckus above was muted the moment the hit the water, and, submerged, he somehow found a new sense of peace. He released the tension in his body and let the ocean carry him away from the fighting on land. He was a good swimmer, after all, and he needn't risk his life resurfacing for air until he knew it was safe.
Catheld sneered at the pirate who dared make a move against her, blasting a hole through his head. She turned on her heel, sending another round of shots towards the bodies ambling towards the shore. One by one, they all fell to the ground. "Pathetic," she muttered under her breath, cold black eyes maintaining a perpetual glare. She was surprised that she hadn't caught fire yet, especially with hair as long and loose as hers. Must've been luck, she figured, spinning to deliver the finishing blow on an unsuspecting pirate. Or was it a civilian? Either way, he'd gotten too close for comfort, and that wasn't something she would easily let slide.

"Indeed." Shell said light-heartedly, wincing at the sound of another explosion a little way off. "It may even be better to remain here for now. Here's to desolate alleyways in the middle of a war zone."
Sakia continued, hot on Jess's trail. She brandished her sword, muttering things like "arr" and "me'hearty" under her breath. Blend in, blend in, she thought to herself as her companion killed a bunch of the pirates around them stone dead. This made her wonder if her face being completely spattered with blood made her stand out less or more.

"If the fire spreads here, we can run," Tempest said. "But it's bound to go out eventually... I hope." She didn't know much about this kind of thing, but most people had migrated to the beach. No one was really left to keep the fire going.
Ren shot down another pirate. He had no idea what he was doing, but if he kept hitting people, that would probably work. Where had Nerida gone? He was going to chew her out for taking his gun.
"You know, gotta admire the effort they put into this," Kara said, gesturing at the burning town. "I'm a bit jealous. They flushed everyone out no problem, and it's still going!" "People are dead," Nerida replied coldly. "True, but you gotta admire a job well done."

It was a while until Gregory came back up for air. He gasped, sucking in deep breaths as he slowly regained vision. He looked around, dark green eyes shimmering in the sunlight, before hoisting himself up onto the dock. The boy stood there, thankful that everyone else nearby was concerned with matters that didn't involve him. Maybe he'd get lucky and find a gun nearby. Even a small knife would suffice. Anything was better than being empty-handed. The pirates who were once chasing him had found a new interest in some other unfortunate fellow, who was violently killed and pillaged. He wondered where Lenora was, and whether she was even still alive at this point.
Near the beach, Lenora was very much alive, and seething with all rage her body could muster. One look at her was something akin to looking at death itself. She was fighting for her life against a band of pirates, her hands lit up with a brilliant white light that incinerated anything that dared to come close. She was outnumbered, sure, but knives and swords were nothing against her. She dropped to the ground, narrowly evading the tip of a dagger, and forced a burst of energy through its owner, burning a large hole through his midsection. The wound was immediately cauterized. He didn't even have a chance to react. Lenora jumped onto her feet and sent and array of burning discs at her opponents, taking them down with ease. There was one left standing. It was a girl, with short hair and frenzied auburn eyes. She was terrified out of her wits, couldn't have been more than 16. Lenora took a step closer to the girl, hands blazing brighter than they were before. "You could pull the trigger," she said coldly, her face contorted into a harsh grimace, "but I assure you, I won't be the one dying."

Hallows doubled over in pain with one hand pressed towards the stab wound, his chin raised towards Fallow by the tip of the blade. "Ugh," he grunted, "I'm not a damn pirate!"

"You're... what?" Fallow lowers his sword as an expression of absolute horror spread across his face. "OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD I'M SO SORRY! I'm such an idiot, wait a second, I have, um... I don't have medical stuff I just... I am so sorry, I really shouldn't be fighting, I'm just a bard..." He pulled his jacket off and held it out to him, grinning nervously. "To stop the blood? Probably better than, uhh, sticking the sword back in to stop it, eh?"
Jess did pause her walking once to take a look around the beach. Even though there was a little less fire, the beach was just as chaotic as the city. It was interesting to see the fight the city was putting up. Strong fighters hid within the city, and she took some comfort in the fact that the beach was bathed in the blood of both friends and enemies. She picked up her pace again, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire, and waded into the water along with all the pirates boarding a smaller, mean-looking ship. She stood directly in the middle of the masses and glanced to see if Sakia was still with her.

Had a sword not just pierced through his side, Hallows would have had a few choice things to say, but the shock was setting in now, and the pain became much more evident to his weary mind. He gritted his teeth, glaring up at Fallow. "Just... do something," he strained.
Through the corner of her eye, Radium could see a red stain blooming through the shirt of her friend as she finished off enemies who not only lost their lives, but their dignities as well. She sprinted over to Hallows and Fallow, face twisted into a menacing scowl. "What in the bloody hell happened here?!" she shrieked. Her hands, which were raised dangerously towards the latter, were smoking, blackened by the residue of a previous fight. She reeked of gunpowder, and her face was stained with streaks of soot.
Hallows silently pleaded for her to calm down.

"I'm REALLY sorry," repeats Fallow. "I'm not a doctor, I..." All he could do was press his jacket into the sword wound to stifle the blood. "You should probably sit down." He glances over his shoulder at Radium, obviously afraid. "I didn't know what side he was on and I stabbed him but now I'm helping. We'll all laugh about this later if he lives. Please help me."

Radium looked at him incredulously, but quickly took a knee to help her friend. "Shit, SHIT, I don't know what to do here," she cursed, hands fumbling through random pieces of cloth as if she could find an answer there. "You," she commanded with a stern finger pointing at a casual bystander, "go get some help, and hurry, dammit!"
