Have you ever had that RP that is super duper popular during the first few days? Everyone is in it and it is the most active roleplay on the street, you feel so excited about it, and you end up having lots of plans for it, what you want to do with the plot, what you want to do with characters ect.
But then the roleplay dies. Yeah, I'm sure that's happened to all of us. It's quite tragic. So why did the roleplay die? Well, it could have been because of the following reasons:
There are many, many other ways roleplays die. So far I've only got rthreeeasons on this list. Comment here other ways you think should be on this list, and I'll add it to the list!
But then the roleplay dies. Yeah, I'm sure that's happened to all of us. It's quite tragic. So why did the roleplay die? Well, it could have been because of the following reasons:
- Nobody knows what to post
Basically someone posts something, but you don't know how to respond. So you end up waiting for someone else in the RP to post, but they probably don't know what to post. And thus the roleplay dies. R.I.P - It goes way too fast, I'm leaving!
This is also a common downfall to RPs. This happens when a roleplay has a ton of people, and they don't close sign ups before they have too much people. There's a reason I normally stop accepting people into RPs after I get a certain amount of people. (Well, not on this site, because it has a small userbase.) It's because with too much people, the roleplay goes really fast, and ends up being impossible for people to catch up. "Recap?" will be drowned out by something that's only happening to a select number of characters. Because of this, people will end up leaving because there's no space for them. And more people leave. Then the RP dies. - The plot is too confusing
This is very similar to the reason above. The roleplay at first seems nice and simple, but then things get way too complicated. Yes, deep and complex RPs are good, but sometimes it can get to a point where nobody knows what's happening anymore, and people stop posting.
