Maybe we should have them meet outside the rp. Or just get separated from everyone else Literally what is THE WORST POSSIBLE scenario for them to be stuck in let's do that

The group was in some old forest somewhere at sunset. The sky was gradually darkening and pine trees loomed as far as the eye could see. It wasn't long before they happened upon a fork in the road.
(shitty start but I'm thinking some monster thing could separate them)

"Where the hell are we..?" murmurs Rien, glancing up. He had his scarf pulled over his mouth and his words were vaguely muffled. "Anyone know which way we're- oh, wait, I have a map." Rien unzips the top of his jacket to pull out his map.

Arata peeked at the map over Rien's shoulder, trying to make sense of it. There was a quiet thump, and then a louder one, and then another even louder. He looked around, startled. The noises increased in volume before something emerged from the rustling trees. A monster, a gigantic creature.
It was like an animated scribble, thin strands of skin holding its body together in a complex web of weirdness. The monster opened its mouth, shooting out a blue substance onto the ground. The ground let out an almighty CRACK before splitting in two, leaving a chasm too wide to jump across.

Rien gasps loudly, folding the map up suddenly. "OOhHHHH MY GOD," he screams at the gigantic creature, taking step back. He shrieks as the blue substance narrow misses both him and Arata, sending him stumbling back. "OH MY GOD KILL IT!"

"Kill it?" Arata questioned, jumping back to narrowly avoid another jet of blue liquid. "I am not really very strong..." He glanced at the monster, then at Rien, then at the forest on their side of the chasm. "Retreat!" he urged.
(jesus arata you're so useless)

ARATA JC
"OH MY GOD," burst Rien again, backing up even more. "Just... Yeah, c'mon!" You didn't have to tell him twice; with a glance over his shoulder to see if Arata was following, Rien turned fully around and started running from the thing, almost tripping at least twice in the span of two seconds.

(*shakes head* these two are so hopeless)
Arata ran after Rien, trying not to trip over him when he stumbled. As they tore through the woods, he looked behind him to see the monster following them. "We have not lost it yet!"

"Why is it following US??" demands Rien to nobody, already sounding pretty out of breath. "FOR REAL LEAVE US ALONE!" In this moment of blind fear and adrenaline he really couldn't think of any clever resolution to this. "GET INTO THE TREES IT'S TOO BIG TO FOLLOW." Those were his words of warning before he swerved and started sprinting off the path and into the trees. He really had no idea how big the thing was or if it was too big to follow. Actually, as he almost crashed into like two more trees, he realized that this probably wasn't the best idea after all.

Today was their lucky day, apparently. The creature's footsteps had ceased altogether. It had entrapped itself in a particularly thick ring of trees and was struggling to get out.
"You're right, it is stuck." Arata pointed behind them. The monster wailed mournfully, upset at having let both sets of prey escape.

Rien slowed to a stop and turned around to face the creature, thoroughly and completely surprised that had worked. "Ha... hah-" his triumphant laugh was cut off by a violent coughing fit, grabbing another tree for stability. "I am thoroughly and completely surprised that worked," he admits once he finished, looking up. resuni.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=201694969 your fault I blame you
