Once upon a time, there was a young girl, her mind plagued by demons. They relentlessly tortured her, criticizing her every move and screaming when she tried to fight back. One day, on her 10th birthday, she was given a leather-bound journal by her grandmother. In this, she wrote and drew all the creatures who would destroy her inside, and watched as she never heard their voices again. She would never reread the pages in fear of remembering their voices and inviting them back into her mind. When the pages filled, she did not burn the book or destroy it, afraid to let her demons out of their prisons.
This girl, along with many others, is a living portal between Earth and Hell, and has been since she was young . She is now 24 years of age, and lives alone. That is, until her three younger sisters came to visit her for the summer.

Mermaids, at birth, have tails quite similar to tadpoles, and for the first 12 years of their life they are about the size of a seven-year-old human child. When they turn 13, their tails start to gain color in patches, and the fin begins to grow in size, taking one of five possible shapes that determine their profession. The mermaid child then rapidly grows in size, the females usually averaging eight to ten feet from head to the tip of the tail, not counting the fin. Males are much, much smaller, usually only reaching five feet in length. They're less often seen out of water, seeing as most are born with flat tails.
Mermaids are a highly intelligent species whose intelligence will often top humans, perfectly capable of learning human languages- most mermaids, especially those with tapered tails, will speak a language fluently to further lure in prey.
Flat-tailed mermaids are known as 'breeder mermaids'. They are kept deep in underwater caverns, excessively fed certain species of seaweed that acts as a powerful aphrodisiac. They simply are always breeding, and are usually the least intelligent, seeing as their mind is clouded by instinct and lust. Most completely forget their childhood, the instinct stirred by the seaweed soon becoming all that is left of them. They are predominantly male, though there are some females. Other-classed Mermaids who decide they want to breed will simply travel to these caverns, taking a few bites of the seaweed and soon having the time of their lives.

In 1733, there was a young Massachusetts girl named Abeline Lockwood. She was very beautiful, her eyes especially so; Their hue the same as the sky, and carrying enough light to fill a room. There was only one townsperson who did not love Abilene's eyes. He was a superstitious old man who believed her eyes were the results of deals with the Devil, and did everything he could to prove it. No matter how much he tried, he could not convince anyone that Abilene . On the night of December 4th, he finally snapped, sneaking into Abilene's family's cottage with a spoon and a bag of rock salt. With this, he pried Abilene's eyelids open while she slept, shoveling out each eye and filling the empty sockets wih salt. The last thing her family heard of Abilene's voice was her agonized screams of "My eyes... Dear God, my eyes...Someone stole my eyes..."
Now, every year on the night she was murdered, she will appear and ask all who she sees; "Have you seen my eyes?" If you say 'no', she will whisper "Liar..." Before her rotting nails dig into your eye sockets, pulling each eye out. If you say 'yes', she will ask "What color were they?" If you say 'blue', she will screech "YOU STOLE THEM!" before taking your eyes from their sockets. Any other color, and she will whisper "Those aren't my eyes.... You lied." Before taking out your eyes. The only way to escape her is to tell her a certain location, where she will go and search for her eyes, giving you time to escape.
---- So I tried to make an urban legend--

Why is it that we used to believe in a fat man who flies a reindeer-pulled sleigh A rabbit that lays eggs and hides them in our yards And a fairy who steals away our lost teeth in the night But the wildest thing we were told to believe in That the concept of believing it is just too far away
Is ourselves?

Character ideas;
A siren who lures her prey in by acting as a shy, scared child living in a cottage by a lake in the woods, craving the sensation of being given affection; She lulls her prey into a dreamlike state with her songs that causes them to protect her and treat her like a little sister, along with following any suggestion she gives them. After a few days of being in this state, she gets bored and tells her prey to drown themselves, allowing her to eat their dead bodies

Cherry blossom, cherry tree, Will the world remember me? Cherry blossom, cherry tree, If I sailed across the sea?
If I crossed the ocean blue, and found an island noone knew Cherry blossom, cherry tree, would the world remember me?
Seedling, blossom, root and tree, Will the world remember me? Seedling, blossom, root and tree, If I found out our history?
If I found a buried city That the Greeks lived in cheerfully; Seedling, blossom, root and tree, would the world remember me?
Wilting blossom, dying tree, Will the world remember me? Wilting blossom, dying tree, if I went down in history?
If I died for a greater cause Went against the prejudice of the laws Wilting blossom, dying tree, would the world remember me?
Cherry Blossom, you reply; "It does not matter how you die." Cherry Blossom, you reply: "As long as you lived a happy life."
"Those who have you in their hearts, will remember you when you part." Cherry Blossom, you reply; "They'll remember you 'til they die."

If I could only keep one thing, I would keep my mind. For if I threw my passion away, many more than one soul would be lost.

Leave me deaf to the world around me. Cut off my tongue and sew my lips shut. But if you really want to drain my will, Cut off my hands so O may never write.
