--Chapter 2 "Alright, everyone. Please proceed into the van in a calm and orderly fashion. Any behavior that will misconduct and disorientate your peers will be dealt with." One of many men with a dandelion in his pocket said. "What is wrong with these dudes? They talk so weird. Are they even human?" Olivia remarked, failing to mask the fear in her voice. "I'm more human than you'll ever be, young lady." The fact that his tone remained calm yet powerful let a small urk out of Olivia's mouth. Everyone got into the van fine except for Alice, who needed to be carefully helped up. The men with dandelions refused to help, so Mildred and Silas offered their help to her instead. "I don't understand... Why wouldn't they help you? That's just mean..." Mildred said softly. " I don't know why, but I feel like it's the reason why we're here." Alice said monotonously. Everyone in the van looked uneasy. Matt even started crying. "I don't like it here! I want to go home and see my mommy and daddy!" he said between sobs. "Don't we all..." Olivia replied bitterly. "Silence, everyone. We are about to begin the journey." The man in the drivers seat said. An uneasy and heavy silence spread out across the room, thickening and fermenting as it traveled across the air. Throughout the journey no one dared to say a word, and other than Matt's sobbing on the quick occasion, the room was silent.
After hours of the uneasy silent travel, nighttime spread like pitch black ink across their vision, and extremely suddenly too, as it was only sunset mere moments ago. Everyone had their own comment to say, but after the driver yelled "SILENCE!" with the powerful voice that all like him seemed to share, the deadly silence returned, uneasier than ever. After a half hour more of the same silence, the van screeched to a halt, causing everyone to lurch forward. "We are here." He announced, no sign of any emotion in his voice. Matt was the first to run out, tripping over the step before falling right on his face. "That's what you get for not being careful." The driver said apathetically, stepping right past Matt as he lay there crying, and pushing away Mildred as he tried to help him up.
After helping Alice back down, everyone looked around. "There's nothing here! Where do you expect us to go? This is preposterous! Ridiculous!" Ted yelled out as the driver walked away from them. "I'm sure you can find a way... " was all he said. And it would be the last thing they heard from him...
"What will we do... We've just been left here to die... on our own..." Mildred said, shaking. "Well... It appears my bag came with some supplies and rations... I assume yours did, as well?" Ted remarked, wanting to put some hope back in the other's hearts. "Don't go acting all smart ass on me, little boy. We've been left to die here, and no matter what stupid 'rations' you have, we're fucked, okay? You hear me?" Olivia began to yell. "Stop, Olivia, please!" Silas interjected. "We were given weapons, right? That means we need to fight something This will sound weird, but... has anyone seen a monster that looks like a flower, or more accurately, has flower petals around its neck?"
Everyone was silent for a moment. Then Mildred spoke up. "Yes... actually. I have... It was only two days ago, it was tall, disgusting, and creepy..." "Kinda like Olivia." Ted remarked, which caused Olivia to give him a sharp glare. "But on a more serious note, I did see a monster like that, too..." everyone proceeded to agree. Even Olivia said she saw a monster that "looked nothing" like her. Everyone even said that they saw the monster about two days ago.
"That must mean we're in the world of monsters. But why us..." Silas said, beginning to trail off. "Either way, if there are really monsters here, we should keep watch at intervals." "Why don't we send out that cripple first? If she gets killed off right away, we can move faster." Olivia said. "For one, I'm not 'that cripple.' Two, I did some cautious experimenting. My power not only makes me move fast, but makes my brittle bone disease null as well as giving me super strength, so I think I'm as much of a use as you when I use it." "Whatever." Was all Olivia said back. "I do agree with you on one thing though, Olivia." Silas said. "Alice should go first. She can use her super speed to run to us, and her strength to knock out the monster if it tries to get us."
"How long does the night last here, anyway?" Ted asked. "It's much longer than the real world, because when we entered here it turned from sunset to pitch black." "Yeah... and it's also much darker too..." Matt whimpered. "I'll be sure to study the time difference later." Ted remarked casually. "And just how will you do that?" Olivia asked, doubting him with bitterness. "Well, all it takes is more patience than you have." Ted said back coolly. "Whatever." Olivia mumbled again. "Gosh, just be quiet, all of you... I don't like fighting..." Mildred sighed. Alice hobbled off into the night, and begrudgingly, everyone went to sleep on the cold hard ground, with a small sleeping bag that came in their supplies as their only cushioning.

---Chapter 3
After multiple long shifts between themselves, Mildred was there to see the sunrise. As she watched it, Silas began to stir in his blanket. He got up and grunted as he rolled around. This startled Mildred, who's shocked squeal caused him to jolt up. "Wha-" he half-yelled as Mildred quickly shushed him. "It's okay! You just startled me!" She reassured him. "Ah... Well, if we're on our own now... I suppose it would be best to get going..." Silas sighed. He was clearly trying to not act scared by putting on a brave facade, although it was obvious how he really felt. After waking up the others, they got the first clear and concise look at their surroundings. " There seems to be a forest, and a clearing. Which way should we go?" Ted questioned as he intook the broad, vast land, that seemed to have huge, glimmering marble spirals that jotted up into the air for miles with beautiful flowers around them. "We should go to the cities! They're so pretty!" Matt remarked. "Are you crazy? You'll die out there! I mean... We aren't even in the human realm anymore." Olivia stuttered back when she realized her tone was so harsh that it was actually scaring herself. "True... whatever citizens are there, they seem to live... somewhere else? All I see are these pillars, even then I see no windows or doors, just a hole at the top... Perhaps it's storing something? Even then, all roads seem to lead there..." Ted murmured as he made quick observations, still getting more questions than answers. "Maybe... The way out is there. Even if it's not, and there are those creepy flower guys there, we can still fight them, right? I don't know how many there are, but there shouldn't be too many, right?" Olivia said, actually trying to reason for once. "That's probably the most logical thing you've ever said." Ted remarked. "But don't get too proud." The last remark caused Olivia to glare at him. "I don't see anything else other than those pillars... I don't know. Maybe we should go there." Mildred muttered to herself. "Yeah!" Silas agreed. "Well.. If you're going, I don't see why not." Alice said." "Then it's settled! Let's go to where Mildred said!" Silas proclaimed. "Technically, I said it first." Ted murmured to himself angrily. But they set off anyway. After a bit of arguing of whether the forest or clearing path was safer to take, the clearing path was eventually decided because nothing could sneak up on them there (and because Mildred said so, according to Silas), they set off. After a few minutes of walking along the cleared path, it turned into an even bigger clearing, which can truly only be described as a verdant plain. Little bright orange striped flowers seemed to pop up here and there, and appeared to murmur incorrigible, unintelligible nonsense and dance in the wind. Olivia grew increasingly uncomfortable as the flowers grew. "I swear to god, they're talking... What if the flower people are here or something..." She kept on repeating this and many other similar phrases as the numbers increased. Eventually, the field was full of these striped flowers, and their murmuring grew into a cry, repeating one simple sentence: "Pugnare aut mori!" Their scathing chant made the air echo with their voices. Olivia didn't understand it, but she had a visceral feeling: She must fight them. The eerie way they seemed so familiar, and they way they chanted... Olivia couldn't bear it. She had to end the lives of every single flower like this that would ever disgrace her field of vision. She pulled out her snapdragon hilt. A deep, thin pink beam of light jolted out and slowly curved out into the blade of her scythe. She was ready. She knew what she had to do. "Olivia! Stop!" Mildred screamed as the blade of Olivia's scythe ripped into the flowers. Petals scattered everywhere and stems dropped to the ground. Quickly, the chanting coming from the flowers turned into screams. Olivia heard nothing. She continued mowing down the flowers mindlessly. The screams of the flowers grew louder and louder until eventually there was only one left. Olivia angrily marched up to it. She lifted up her scythe and unleashed her rage. There were only bits and pieces of the flower by the time she finished. "It's over! It's over! Are you finally happy? Are you?" She screamed at the remainder of the flower. She was so caught up in her anger that she didn't even notice the ground begin to shift or the rumbling from behind her. "Olivia! Watch out!" Mildred yelled. But it was too late. A monster, long, scaly, and green, that appeared to be human like with elongated arms and legs, about seven feet tall... With bright orange striped petals framing its face. It had long, feminine eyelashes that seemed to have a yellow tip on the end, three on one eye, two on the other, but that was the only feminine or likable feature about it. Its face was actually grizly, covered in scars, and had the film over its eyes was so old that it was beginning to yellow. "Are finally happy? Are you?" It repeated Olivia's words in a creepy and mocking way. Olivia threw down her scythe, appearing to want to fight it, but she was stopped short when it grabbed her with its massive hands and lifted her up. "What'll we do? We have to save Olivia!" Mildred gasped. "I think I have an idea." Alice said. She let go of her crutches as she let herself fall forward, quickly grabbing her hourglass and turning it quickly. Her hair turned silver and she dashed off at an undetectable speed. (to be continued > )

Chapter 5 Sorry for the long wait! Got very sidetracked with school, shitposting and such... From Alice’s perspective, the world slowed down. Color went void, no, the whole world seemed to go void, as the monster seemed to be the only thing she could see or even comprehend. What was a brisk jog for her closed the distance between her and the monster easily. She knew she didn’t have much time, so she instantly ran up its body, seeming to leave small, foot shaped vibrations throughout the monster’s body. The beast began to slowly turn its grizzly face towards Alice, and it reached out one of its gargantuan hands toward her.
Alice seized her opportunity. Pushing on its hand to add force, she leapt off of its body. She noticed a petal, and grabbing it, swung around toward the hand that clutched Olivia. She swerved and landed on the soft underside of the wrist, and landed right on the artery there. A slow anger and discomfort began to creep on its face. It let go of Olivia, and in that crucial second she grabbed her and jumped out. Using the monster like a slide, she landed on the ground and gently set Olivia down. She knew she didn’t have much time left. She gave the monster a blow to the foot, causing it to fall. She grabbed the still dazed Olivia by the hand, and in what was only a few seconds in her world, the silver locks blowing in front of her face turned to blonde. “Ohhhh… Shit.” she said as her foot landed on the ground with a crunch, sucking in her breath through her teeth as she fell over and begun to twist her leg.
Olivia grabbed her before she could go any further down, and tried to partially carry her without hurting her or breaking any more bones. This slowed down her running speed greatly, but she knew she had to carry on. After all, Alice’s power had saved her. Leaving her for dead seemed too low by her standards. Of course, it didn’t take long for the monster to recuperate from the fall, and bounded toward them on gargantuan legs. Olivia did the only thing she knew she could. “Someone? Anyone! Mildred, Silas, anyone! Help!” She screeched out into the open air. The monster just bounded toward them fast. Olivia could feel its disgusting, humid breath on her neck when-
SLASH!
A burning blade slashed right past the monsters face. It hardly had any time to react before more fire filled strikes hit its body, eventually dying by its flaming wounds. “Oh… My God… When I saw you just run off like that Alice, with your strength only lasting one minute and such, we had to come after you!” Silas yelled, voice filled with panic at Alice’s condition as Olivia gently set her down. “Aw shucks, Silas. You know that it’d be much more useful for the team if you didn’t just let me bring everyone down like this.” Alice laughed grimly, looking up at Silas’ sword, still ablaze with emotion. “No! No, wait!” Mildred panted, out of breath, with Matt and Ted holding her hands, looking tired from running a great distance as well. “When I got these Prayers…. I was told that they could bring anything. This is a pretty big miracle, so…” Mildred’s hand lingered over the biggest Absolute Prayer in the center, but slowly moved down to the three second biggest prayers forming a triangle around it. “...This has to work!” She said confidently. “And if it doesn’t?” Alice looked at Mildred with empty eyes. Mildred said nothing. Mildred took the seed out of the slot it was held in, and clenched it in her hand. “I wish that Alice will heal from whatever ails her!” She yelled out, for it was truly what her heart desired. Instantly, instructions flew into her mind, about how to use the Prayer, and what to expect. “Silas… May I borrow your sword?” She said calmly. “Ah… So it didn’t work did it? I see…” Alice murmured from below. “Alice! I’m sorry, this is all my fault! If I didn’t..” Olivia started to cry as she finished talking. Everyone was so wrapped up in the emotion that no one noticed Mildred begin to use Silas’ sword to form a small cut on Alice’s partially twisted leg until she cried out. “Mildred? The hell are you doing?” She cried out in pain and confusion. Mildred gingerly placed the seed into the cut she made. “Mildred? Are you crazy? Get that seed out of there now!” Olivia yelled. She began to reach her hand toward the cut to get it out, but as she did, she noticed a tiny little sapling beginning to grow out of the cut, and then…
The sapling rapidly began to grow and contort itself until it took the shape of a bonsai tree. For a few seconds, everyone stared in awe at it, how its shape was so beautiful… how its branches were so elegant… Alice’s scream pierced through the serenity. “What is this? WHAT IS THIS! IT FEELS LIKE THERE ARE A HUNDRED NEEDLES PIERCING THROUGH MY BODY OH GOD OH GOD!” “Don’t worry Alice! Y-you’ll be okay… When I suddenly learned how to do this and all it said you would feel pain but I didn’t know it would be this bad!” Mildred stuttered, looking as if she was about to cry. In reality, thousands of tiny roots were moving around her body, adjusting her bones, filling in the cracks with nutrients… Everyone had to look away and cover their ears. Matt even hid his face in Mildred’s shirt. “Millie,” he said, “Will Alice be okay? Is she gonna…” He looked up at her, teary eyed. “No, no, she’ll be okay… I know she will..” “Guys! Look at the tree!” Ted called out. It had sprouted glorious looking and fragile cherry blossoms that were as pink as cotton candy and looked as soft as a pillow. Quickly the petals flew off and the blossoms began to wilt. The tree itself began to slowly wither and dry with age, coming closer and closer, inching to the ground until it shortly and suddenly turned to dust and blew off in the wind. Everyone sat in silence as after a few seconds of nothing, a tremendous amount of pollen poured out from the cut in Alice’s leg, which had somehow stayed the same size, drifting out into the sky like daytime stars. After all the pollen had left the cut, which had mysteriously disappeared by that time, Alice jolted up in shock. Onto her own two legs. Without hesitation or help.
Everyone was silent as the looked up at the tall Alice. She had a look of pure shock of her face, as if she was dreaming or hallucinating. “My broken bones are gone. And…” Alice took two cautious steps forward. “I can walk… Without help.. or anything!”

Chapter 6 That night, everyone sat around a campfire Silas and Ted made, staring in awed silence at Alice and Mildred. Once the loud yells and gasps of shock and awe had stopped, and the confused questioning from everyone had been resolved, there was not much else to do. “I still don’t get what happened. There’s got to be a scientific explanation for this!” Ted murmured to himself. “You just saw a fuckin’ tree grow out of her leg and you want to put SCIENCE into this?” Olivia spat at him. “He’s still a child. Let him question the things around him.” Alice said to her, a slightly harsh look on her face. This led Olivia to look down, slightly ashamed.” W-well. I guess that’s fine too.” She murmured to herself, twiddling her thumbs and watching them go back and forth against each other. Alice’s face softened, and she turned to look at her. “You look kinda sad. Hey, I wasn’t that mean, was I?” She chuckled a little at the end. Olivia still didn’t look at her. “...Alright then, be that way...I’ll use my now perfectly healed and working legs to walk myself to bed!” She got up, but Silas stopped her. “Actually, it’s your turn to watch tonight, so if you do want to go to bed, then you might want to stay up for at least 30 minutes.” He explained. Alice groaned. “Okay… ya got me.” She sighed, proceeding to use an old sweater Mildred had donated to put out the fire. “Ya win some, ya lose some.” She muttered. Everyone was in bed and asleep now. Or so Alice thought. As she sat watch, (though she mostly looked at the stars,) she thought she heard some movement different from the wind blown leaves of the nearby saplings scattered on the fields. Her head turned quickly to see Olivia rustling in her bed, her amber eyes glowing in the moonlight. Having nothing else to do, she walked over to her. Alice’s surprisingly quiet steps made Olivia jump. She almost screamed, but Alice stopped her. “Shh. hey. It’s me. You know… Alice.” She laughed quietly, and Olivia’s face relaxed, but quickly turned into a scowl. “Why are you here, huh? Shilling me up for guard duty because I can’t sleep?” she spat. “Nah. It’s not that. I’m just making sure you’re not feeling guilty. I remember earlier, when my leg was broken, you said: ‘This was all my fault!’ I just want you to know that it’s not. There was totally some crazy mumbo jumbo in those talking flowers that made you mad for some reason. Although, I don’t know why…” “Maybe it’s how shitty I am.” Olivia sighed to herself. “Hey, admitting you’ve got a problem is the first step to recovery.” She replied. “You’re not denying it, huh?” Olivia grumbled. “I’m not. You were kind of a bitch when I first met you.” Alice admitted. “Then w-why are you coming back to me? W-why are you bothering with me?” Olivia stammered, her voice shaking as if she was trying not to yell. “Why? Because you’re not a bitch for no reason. You probably have some problems. I’d know… I did too. Still do, actually.” Alice stated, voice still entirely calm. “Whatever!” Olivia snarled, turning away. “It’s okay… I understand.” Alice sighed, preparing to go back to her watch position, when Olivia suddenly got up. “No, you do not understand.” She hissed with a harsh whisper. “You do not understand, and you never will. How the hell could you understand me, how the hell could you understand what i’ve done, or who I am?” “I never said I understood who you are or what you’ve done.” Alice said. “But I understand how you’re feeling. Being so angry at everything that you feel like you have no choice but to take it out on others. Taking it out on others because you think it’s the only thing you can do to become happy.” Olivia could only say one sentence. “Did you really feel like that yourself?” “Yes, yes I did. I got so mad at the world because of my condition, and I took it out on everyone I met because I felt so feeble and weak. Happy now?” Alice replied. “Well… I don’t get it. You seem like you’re never mad, and so calm all the time, but yet you say that you’re angry all the time.” Olivia said. “Was angry. It took a long, long time to get the anger out of my body, but after years of learning and counseling, I learned that life is not my fault. We can’t control the hand life deals us.” “Can’t control the hand the hand life gives you… eh?” Olivia whispered to herself. “Yeah, that’s what I said.” Alice said. “You’re still weird. I would have probably told myself to fuck off and go die in a hole, if I were you.” Olivia sighed. “I wanted to at a few points, if you want me to be honest.” Alice chuckled. “Whatever.” Olivia sighed. Alice snickered. “What is it with you and whatever?” “Nothing…” Olivia murmured. “Alright then.” Alice said. “Well, what are you going to do, now that you’ve got me all awake like this?” Olivia said, somewhat flustered. “That’s a weird way to put it,” Alice said, making Olivia blush, “but I was thinking about going to bed, if you’re so awake.” Olivia grunted, and opened her mouth to say something, but stopped. “Fine.” “Oh, thank god, now I can-” Alice was about to finally enjoy her night time solace, when she suddenly heard a rustling which sounded distinctly different from the leaves in the wind. “What on earth was that?” She quickly turned around, but saw nothing. “There’s nothing there… but wait!” She noticed Ted’s bed was empty. There were flailing marks and strewn around grass blades everywhere, indicating a struggle. A struggle that had clearly gone unheard, considering that Matt, who was right next to his bed, was still sound asleep. “Damn. This isn’t good. We have to wake everyone up.” Olivia said. She clasped her hands around her mouth, preparing a call: “Everyone! Everyone! Ted’s gone missing! I think he’s been kidnapped! Wake your asses up!”
(Hello fellow humans! It took me a long while to plan exactly what would happen in this chapter, yknow, the dialog and stuff. But I'm tryna get more active. It's hard to balance a life of drawing, shitposting, and writing, but you bet your ass I'll try. Anyways, while I'm here, I'm gonna drop you with a bombshell. Not sure if it's a particularly smart move to reveal this, but...
Someone's going to die next chapter! But I won't tell you who it is. I just want you to worry about it, MUAHAHA. I'll put up a poll asking who you think will die *the poll wont affect the story, the person who dies, well, their fate was set in stone a long time ago* and tell me why in the comments!)
