Marx, cackling, flies out of the rift back into his universe.
He wasn't even scared.
Flying through the depths of space, he feels more invigorated.
At some point, the disembodied voice from before comes back through to him.
"You know, you're not very far away from you-know-what..."
Marx shakes his head in denial.
The voice chuckles.
"Yes, you are.
I don't know how you got resurrected, but it's only been a short time..." The tone suddenly changes to empathetic sorrow.
"I wish I could have prevented this from happening to you. But my magic, in death, is not strong enough to overpower living beings. You're too young for this to happen. Again.
But you can't just commit genocide on everything in the multiverse."
The vocal tone sounds annoyed on the last sentence.
Marx looks away, covering his face.
"You have to accept both of your fates with dignity, both your final breaths and the afterlife down here.
You attempted something very, very bad today."
No response.
"I know you don't understand exactly why it's wrong to do. It's hard for you because you see things from a... fairly different point of view."
'Crazy' was a trigger word. It was known that Marx was insane, but he didn't think that he was...
"...The world is never fair, though. Nobody seems to understand your complicated little soul but me. I ask others and they just call you... well... that word you don't like.
And when people don't understand someone, the most common result is making the outcast suffer.
...You did try to eradicate everything, I can understand very well why they wouldn't like that.
Nevertheless, I am sorry for this loss. It's yet another sad ending to a sad child's life. Or, second life. I feel horrible, but at least we'll reunite soon...
Every villain is a hero in their own mind. Sometimes we cannot tell the difference... Please don't do any more bad things... it just worsens your retribution here. You're going to regret it."
The voice fades.
Marx immediately both misses it and is relieved it's gone.
Funny, you could both care for and fear somebody all at the same time.
